Renowned Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at Age 60.
Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in popular TV shows like Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has passed away at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in LA this Monday after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, per reports.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his relatives stated in a statement.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".
A Notable Television Career
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a party host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of hit series, like:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight series over nearly a decade.
His film credits encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his television work, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was part of a comedy group of six called Beer Shark Mice.
"He guided, supported, and advised many learners during his career and it's nearly impossible to find someone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
Offering condolences, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared publicly.
Finn is remembered by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his family.
