Los Angeles experienced citywide celebrations after the Los Angeles Dodgers won a thrilling seven-game World Series title. Supporters worldwide joined Angelenos in jubilation, marking the first time in 25 years that a team has achieved back-to-back championships.
Celebration Parade Attracts Massive Crowds
Los Angeles area events included a downtown parade on the morning of the parade, a ticketed rally at the team's home stadium, and impromptu gatherings across the city.
Online footage show thousands of Angelenos packing downtown streets, many displaying homemade signs and team flags. The team was seen riding high on a double-decker bus through the masses, hoisting the championship trophy high.

In contrast, Mark Walter was met with a less warm reception at the celebration. Recordings from the event appear to show Walter taking the stage to a combination of applause and boos, with negative shouts interrupting his speech.
The championship acted as a positive moment in what has been a trying year for the city. An approximate 225,000 people showed up to the championship parade last year, and according to Dodgers player Freddie Freeman, fans this year demonstrated as much if not more enthusiasm.
“It seems it’s almost double from last year,” Freeman said. “These fans are crazy. It’s so awesome to be a involved in this.”
