Iranian Forces State Assault on US Base in Bahrain, As Part of Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a significant and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity near the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any destruction is unclear and the US has remained silent.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - reported they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
IRGC Statement
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on the Islamic Republic launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted locations associated with the the regime, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the regime.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with high efficiency and shot down a several projectiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported debris landed in a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and killing a civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
