Former Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have stated that a ex- doctor stands accused of committing assaults involving 38 individuals who were under his care.
The Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A senior CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
These allegations come after what police called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
Breakdown of Offences
Prosecutors outline the forty-five charges he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
