British Sports Chair Details Artificial Intelligence Strategy to Enhance GB Athletes For Future Podium Success.
Great Britain's Olympic and Paralympic Games squads must embrace AI and encourage increased collaboration to maintain their recent high-level performance, as stated by the nation's elite sport agency leader Nick Webborn.
"Our nation has been a highly prosperous nation, and to keep that standing or to possibly improve further, we're going to have to operate differently," he stated.
He emphasized the need to "think smarter" and "utilize technologies such as AI effectively in sport," as well as enhancing cooperation between different governing organizations.

The chairman's vision goes beyond medal ambitions. He pointed to several key areas where AI could offer significant advantages:

While Team GB won 65 medals at the Paris 2024 Olympics, equalling their 2012 London haul, their first-place count of 14 saw them fall to seventh in the overall table.
