An Exceptional Person - Will Greenwood Leads Backing for Moody Following MND Diagnosis

Previous national team leader Lewis Moody has been backed to face motor neurone disease with "all his might" by ex-colleague and co-World Cup champion Will Greenwood.
The 47-year-old sportsman, found out about the degenerative, muscle-wasting condition 14 days prior and has revealed to a national television show that he is finding it difficult to face the implications of his diagnosis.
Sports icon Rob Burrow and Scotland and British and Irish Lions great Doddie Weir have both died from the disease within the past three years.
"He's an incredible person that we admire completely," Will Greenwood, who played alongside Moody for England and his club, shared on BBC Radio 5 Live.
"The news is heartbreaking, because he is a truly good person. And I know there is no order to this stuff - how you leave this planet - but you cheer for decent people."
"He possesses no malice, he is the most positive person you can hope to find... and then he had an ability on the pitch to completely change and be an intensely driven athlete."
"He's determined to combat this with all his energy."
Greenwood and Moody were team-mates with both Leicester and England
Leicester's representative, the organization's leader at Leicester where Moody made 223 appearances, securing multiple domestic championships and international successes over 14 years, also commended Moody as a person, as well as a player.
"The figures, trophies and awards demonstrate the exceptional athlete Lewis was, but that is merely one aspect," commented the representative.
"At one moment he'd be celebrating with the global championship cup and the subsequent match day he'd be in the sales department where I worked, taking calls from fans if we were really busy and helping sell tickets."
"As an individual, his commitment to his club along with his kindness and enthusiasm was evident, which made him beloved among players, personnel and followers."
