Actor Rejects Anti-Vaxxer Stance Following Narrating Disputed Coronavirus Film
The acclaimed actor has lent his vocal talents to a new documentary that casts doubt on the safety of immunizations and commends one-time health official RFK Jr.
The Film's Disputed Basis
Called "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is inspired by a well-known publication written by Judy Mikovits, who rose to infamy during the pandemic for claims that the virus was linked to a problematic version of the influenza shot.
The book's collaborator, a producer, has previously authored books with controversial media personality a known commentator. Heckenlively recently posted praising Neeson's involvement in the film.
An Unequivocal Rebuttal
A spokesperson for Liam Neeson have released a comment firmly refuting suggestions that he subscribes to anti-immunization views.
"Many acknowledge that corruption might be present within the medical sector, but that should never be equated to being against vaccines," the response reads. "Neeson never has been, and remains not, against vaccines. His long work with the global charity reinforces his enduring support for global immunisation initiatives."
The response added that the star had no hand in the film's editorial content and that inquiries about its claims ought to go to the filmmakers.
Key Claims Within the Film
According to the documentary, the script provided by Neeson features several controversial claims:
- It claims that pro-vaccine voices have insisted on "complete compliance" to health authorities.
- It posits that "science has become dangerously politicised."
- RFK Jr is interviewed claiming, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they are not safely tested."
- The narration also criticizes pandemic restrictions, arguing they caused psychological harm that resulted in thousands of lives.
- Concerning the immunizations, it cites a view that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "dangerous experiments."
Previous Controversy and Current Issues
The documentary includes a past television report about clinical trials on children, which was subsequently the topic of a correction by the broadcaster for editorial breaches.
Last month, the political figure called on the national health agency to revise its longstanding position that there is no causal relationship between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This supposed link is repeated in the documentary, even with a recent study from the WHO confirming no connection has been found.
A Past Statement of Endorsement
Standing in contrast to the documentary's narrative, Neeson has previously voiced strong support for vaccines in his role as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
Two years ago, he referred to vaccines as "an incredible achievement," adding that "The conversation about vaccines in recent years has lost sight of how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in our history."
The film ends with Neeson's narration stating, "This marks not the conclusion of our story. It is the dawn of a new chapter."
